Yesterday morning I turned on the TV and saw President Obama speaking passionately and articulately against human trafficking, here in the United States and around the world.

No matter our political parties or affiliations, this issue of basic human rights is something I’m sure we all care about and wish we could do something about.

For me, it’s hard to think about human trafficking for more than a minute because…what can just one person do?

As Obama spoke, I thought of someone I interviewed last week who has answered that question. Big time.

She is a powerful philanthropist with a worldwide reach. She has been invited to The White House for her accomplishments.

And she is 8 years old.

Vivienne Harr of Fairfax, CA recently saw a book on modern-day slavery that disturbed her so much that she knew she needed to do something.

So she did what she knows… she opened a lemonade stand.

And vowed to raise $150,000 to donate to fight human trafficking and modern-day slavery around the world.

In just weeks Vivienne is already one-third of the way to her goal with more than $50,000 raised. Her story has gone viral, and donations are pouring into her website from around the world. www.MakeAStandLemonade.com

Has President Obama been inspired by Vivienne? She has been invited to the White House on October 12.

She says she’ll take her lemonade stand with her, with hopes to set it up on the White House lawn.

I don’t put it past her.
